Tuseday June 8. Mickey Lolich (12-4) was in complete command scattering three hits, walking none and striking out 9 en route to a 6-0 shutout over the Brewers. Willie Horton hit his 9th homrun. Bill Parsons (4-5) took the loss.
Wednesday June 9. Les Cain matched Lolich's shutout and raised him one three run homer (1). Horton also homered (10) as Cain four hit Milwaukee 9-0. Lew Krausse (4-5) took the loss.
Thursday June 10. The Brewers finally scored in Motown getting a run in the fourth inning off Joe Coleman. One run was not enough though as the Tigers got 5 of their own. Coleman won the game (7-2) with reief help from Fred Scherman(8th save).
