Blues Singer...

MON 10, LA 7 (Jary Parc):
Willie Crawford led off the game with a towering shot off of Montreal starter John Stoneman. LA managed to scratch out another run to give Bill Singer a two run lead. Singer found a way to give it all back in the bottom of the inning by allowing Montreal to score 4. Singer was ineffective at best and was pulled in favor of Bob O'Brien who was tossed in the bottom of the fifth for arguing a very questionable ball 4 call. O-B went completely ballistic and even manager Walt Alston couldn't save him. At that point LA was down 5-4. The Dodgers rallied to score 2 runs in the top of the 7th to take a 6-5 lead. Jim Lefebvre and Tom Haller were responsible for the RBI's. Willie Davis swiped a key bag after leading off with a single. Again LA's mound corps couldn't hold the lead as Joe Moeller gave up 3 in the bottom of the inning to put Montreal up by 2. Then in the 8th Ron hunt led off with a single and Le Grande Orange', Rusty Staub hit a 2 run shot deep into the Quebec night to put it away. Howie Reed notched the win after blowing the save opportunity and Mike Marshall came on board to notch his 4th save of the year.
