Boston take 3 of 4 from Minny

The Red Sox love/hate relationship with their manager, Marc Weiss, continues.  When Weiss manages the team the Sox lose.  When the computer manages the team the win, just like they did here in this series by taking 3 of 4 from the Twins.  Minnesota manager Mike Kenney was quoted as saying, "why couldn't Weiss manage this series ?  Why did I get stuck playing against the computer, which obviously has the pulse of this team".  When contacted for comment Weiss told the press to ask Yaz, who has underperformed so far this year.

The Bosox took game 1 by a score of 4-3.  Luis Aparicio doubled home Billy Conigliaro for the walk off win in the 9th over Jim Kaat who was cruising up until the 7th.  The Spaceman, Bill Lee got the win in relief of Nagy.

The Twins struck back for a 5-3 win in game 2 as they belted Red Sox starter Floyd Peters.  Brant Alyea went 3 for 4 with a homer.  Yaz again took the collar as his average dropped to .145.

The Bosox struck back and knocked Bert Blyleven out of the box after he gave up 6 in 6 innings of work.  Yaz finally found his lumber and went 2 for 4 to raise his average to a blistering .167.  Joe Lahoud went 2 for 4 to raise his average to .400 to become the only Bosox batting over .300 in the lineup.  The boomer, George Scott hit one of his taters and had 4 RBI's on the day.  Ray Culp notched the W.

Steve "sore armed" Barber left the game after only 4 innings of work for the Twins.  This stressed out their limited pen and the Bosox feasted with 8 runs.  Sonny Siebert went the distance allowing only 1 run as he improved his record to 3-2.  Yaz is now hot or more likely just out to spite Weiss as he went 2 for 3 to raise his average to .188.  Billy C posted 3 hits to raise his avg to .267.
