White Sox take 2 of 3

The Chicago White Sox took 2 out of 3 against the Minnesota Twins.... Game 1 saw Minnesota coast to a 7-1 win. Harmon Killebrew's 3rd HR of the year along with Rick Renick's 1st led the Twins attack pounding Sox starter Wilber Wood (4-2) for 7 runs in 7 innings. Jim Kaat scattered 4 hits, one being Rick Reichardt's 3rd HR of the season, for the 1BB 8K complete game victory.

Game 2 saw the White Sox rebound to an 8 to 4 (45 minute rain delay)win. Mike Andrews (3), Bill Melton (6) and Lee Richard (1) hit home runs
with Richard going 3 for 5 and Ed Stroud going 2 for 4 with 2 triples.
Bart Johnson went 6 scoreless innings before giving way to Terry ' Fat
Tub of Goo' Forster (what a nickname!!) who almost blew the game giving
up 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning. Vicente Romo came in then to record his
1st save of the year. For the Twins, Jim Perry gave up 7 runs in 4 2/3
innings. Harmon Killebrew led the Twins with his 4th HR of the year

In Game 3 the Sox took the rubber game with an easy 9 to 2 victory behind Tom Bradley's 7 inning 2 ER performance. He won his 5th game of the year. Offensively, Ed Herrmann led the charge going 3 for 5 and hitting
2 HR's (6) along with 4 RBI's. Bill Melton (7) and Jay Johnstone (4) also hit HR's.
