New York Yankees take 2 of 3 from Chicago

Game 1 New York 3 Chicago 2
Fritz Peterson tosses a complete game leading the Yankees to a 3-2 win. Chicago scored a run in the 5th inning ending the Yankees 28 inning scoreless streak.

Game 2 New York 8 Chicago 0
Steve Kline and Tommy John were both pitching gems as neither team scored in 7 innings. But in the 8th, the Yankees broke through with 6 runs with a Bobby Murcer grand slam, his second of the
season and Gene Michael bases loaded double. Murcer also added a 2 run hommer in the 9th.

Game 3 Chicago 4 New York 1
Bill Melton hit a 3 run homer in the 4th to give Chicago a lead they never gave up and end the Yankees 4 game winning streak. Gene Michael added a solo homer in the 8th to give the Yankees their only run. Wilber Wood goes all the way for the win.
