Baltimore sweeps 2 from Boston

Game 1-Baltimore 2 Boston 1-Jim Palmer for Baltimore and Sonny Siebert
for Boston hooked up for an old fashioned pitcher's duel in this game. Palmer gave up 7 hits 1 run and struck out 11 in a complete game victory. Siebert was nearly as good giving up just 6 hits and striking out 5 in going the distance. Unfortunately for Siebert 2 of the hits were homeruns - 1 each by Ellie Hendricks and Frank Robinson.

Game 2 - Baltimore 15 Boston 14 - This was one wild game from Fenway Park that featured 32 hits. Baltimore jumped out to a 15-4 lead after 5 innings on the strength of 2 grand slams...1 by Merv Rettenmund and 1 by Frank Robinson. But Boston kept battling getting 5 in the sixth inning and 1 in the 7th. Both teams were held scoreless......a rare feat in this one.....in the 8th inning. Boston made it very interesting in the 9th scoring 4 runs before Eddie Watt finally got the last out to perserve the victory.
