CIN takes 2 of 3 from SF

Game 1: CIN 0 SF 1 (14). In what turned out to be an epic duel, nobody
was able to cross the plate for thriteen innings before Willie McCovery
drove home Willie Mays with no outs in the bottom of the fourteenth.
Juan Marichal pitched ten innings and got a no-decision.

Game 2: CIN 5 SF 4 (11) Another extra innings affair featuring two home
runs from Tony Perez. An 11th inning homer by May off of Johnson was the
deciding blow.

Game 3: CIN 6 SF 2. The scoring opened with a sacrifice by Don Gullet in
the fifrh, followed in the sixth by a teo-run shot by May. Dietz hit a
two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth but that was as close as the
Giants could get. The Reds blew it open in the ninth inning with three
consecutive RBI hits off Bryant, who remained in the game through the
whole contest to take the loss and rest a tired bullpen.
