INNING 3
- PHI: Russell makes a great play tracking Harmon's grounder down, but throws it away (E4). Bowa singles to left to put runners on the corners with 1 out. McCarver grounds back to the box to start a 1-6-3 DP to end the inning.
- LAD: With 1 out Bobby V doubles into the right center gap. Montanez' throw to second was close, but Valentine was clearly in. Osteen K'd for out #2. Russell popped to Bowa to end the inning.
INNING 4
- PHI: Deron Johnson worked the count full and walked. Money lined out to Davis in center. Montanez fanned on an 0-2 changeup and Roger Freed ended the inning by grounding out to Garvey @ 3rd.
- LAD: With 2 outs Richie Allen hit a blast down the left field line that Don Money snagged at the base of the fence for the 3rd out.
INNING 5
- PHI: 3 up 3 down
- LAD: Parker led off with a line shot just over the third base bag that Vukovich dove for but missed. The ball rattled around in the corner and Parker wound up standing on 2nd with a lead off double. Garvey bunted Parker over to third. Joe Ferguson hit a sac fly to Montanez in center to score Parker and score the first run of the day (LA 1, PHI 0). Bobby V popped out to McCarver behind the plate to end the inning.
INNING 6
- PHI: With 2 out Ferguson dropped a pop up just in front of the plate to allow D.Johnson to reach second (E2). Money singled him home and reached second when the ball rolled through Mota's legs (LA 1, PHI 1). Montanez flew out to Davis in center to end the inning.

- PHI: 3 up 3 down
- LAD: Willie Davis led off and sprayed a single through the hole at short for a single. Chris Short threw over to first, but Davis still managed to steal second on the first offering to Richie Allen, who was then intentionally passed in order to face Wes Parker. Parker bunted to move the runners up to 2nd and 3rd. Philly brought the infield in and Steve Garvey grounded sharpley to Vukovich at 3rd, who held the runners and threw Garvey out. Willie Crawford was called on to pinch hit for Joe Ferguson and was intentionally passed to load the bases and face Bobby V, who flew out to center to end the inning.
INNING 8
- PHI: Tom Haller replaced Ferguson behind the plate for LA. 3 up 3 down for the Phils.
- LAD: Osteen led off with a single to right on a 0-1 count. Russell grounded to second and forced Osteen. Mota hit into a fielder's choice as well & Willie Davis flew out to center to end the inning.

- LAD: Joe Hoerner (L) came on to start the 9th in relief of Short. LA went 3 up 3 down.

- LAD: 3 up 3 down. Bill Sudakis fanned while pinch hitting for Osteen w/2 out.

- PHI: Newly acquired Hoyt Wilhelm was brought on to start the 11th for LA. Philly went 3 up 3 down.
- LAD: With 1 out Mota doubled into the left center power alley off of Joe Hoerner. Willie Davis singled to center, but Philly's outfield was playing shallow, so Mota did not attempt to score. With 1 out and runners on the corners Richie Allen fanned on a 2-2 offering for the 2nd out. With a 1-2 count Wes Parker single to center to win the game with his 7th GWRBI on the season.
