Saturday July 21. Dave Duncan struck first with his ninth homer of the season. The As added a run in the fifth on a Green sacrifice fly. Jim Hunter kept theTigers at bay until the 8th when Ike Brown hit a pinchit homer (7). That was followed by a Kaline pinch hit double. With two out Kaline was driven home by Northrup. Th game went into extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th, Green lead off with a double. Rollie Fingers then singled him home and the game was over. Fred Scherman took the loss (5-3).
