Neither starter (Jim Perry or Gary Peters) had much in this contest. The bats were alive. Even
George Mitterwald slammed 2 homers, but alas they were not enough as the Bosox outlasted the Twinkies in htis 7-6 affair. Yaz had 2 hits and a homer to move above the Mendoza line once again in this forgettable season for him. Killebrew, who looks to be in his twilight also had a long blast. Tatum came on to relieve Peteres for the final 2 outs as Boston moves 6 games over .500 for the first time all season.
