In Game 1 - The Sox ride Wilber Wood's (10-8 2.39) 6.2 innings of shut
out pitching and coast to a 5-0 win. Dick Bosman (2-14 5.76) takes the
loss. Bill Melton leads the Sox going 2 for 4, hitting his 25 HR and
adding 2 more RBI's. Pat Kelly (2) and Bee Bee Richard (3) also knocked
HR's.
Game 2 saw the White Sox win 6-2 behind the CG win by Tommy John (10-7
2.60) Pete Broberg (2-4 5.44) gets the loss.
On offense, Pat Kelly (.290)went 3 for 5, Carlos May (.237) went 2 for
3 and Bill Melton (.279) went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles and 5 more RBI's to
add to his league leading 87 RBI's
