Game 1: Pirates 0-5-0, Dodgers 2-8-0
Pitchers duel. Hard luck Al Downing (10-9, 3.14) shuts out Pirates for his 10th win on the season. Game was scoreless until the 7th. Downing scattered 5 hits in the CG win. Buckner and Dick Allen had 2 hits each to lead LA. Wind was gusting at 15 mph out in right field, but neither team could take advantage of it.

Game 2: Pirates 6-7-1, Dodgers 4-7-1

Pirates bats heat up Bob Robertson slammed his 25th and Willie Stargell added two dingers to give him 31 for the season. Walker earned his 10th win and Dave Giusti picked up his 20th save. Davis led the Dodgers with a 3-4 performance at the plate. Game was knotted at 1 apiece when Stargell hit his first homer, a 3 run shot off of Bill Singer.
Game 3: Pirates 3-8-0, Dodgers 0-7-0
Steve Blass (10-8, 3.35) pitched a CG gem 9 IP 7 hits 0 ER 1 BB 7 K's. Bob Robertson slammed his 26th HR matching his real life total for the Bucs. Willie Davis had 3 of the Dodgers hits going 3-4 again for the 2nd straight game and 7 for 12 for the series.
