
Gm1 - Red Sox win 8-7. Bobby Bolin (2-2 5.12) gets the win and Rich Hinton (0-1 6.00) the loss. Billy Conigliaro (.297) comes in to hit a pinch hit Grand Slam, his 8th HR of the year, in the 6th to ice it for Boston. Phil Gagliano (.293) went 4 for 5 and Reggie Smith (.281) laid it on the Pale Hose hitting 2 HR to give him 20 for the year. For the White Sox, Bill Melton (.297) added to his league leading RBI totals with 4 and going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and hitting his 28th HR.

Gm 2 - Boston wins again, this time 5-2. Sonny Siebert (12-8 3.03) gets the CG victory while Joel Horlen (4-5 4.29) takes the defeat. On the offense, Phil Gagliano (.326) leads the attack going 3 for 5 and Joe Lahoud (.252) goes 2 for 3 and hit his 8th HR. Rich McKinney led the Pale Hose offense with a 3 for 4 performance and hitting his 3rd HR of the year.

Gm 3 - Chicago wins the final game 1-0 in 11 innings behind the great pitching of Wilber Wood (12-8 2.16) who goes all 11 to gain the CG win. Ken Tatum (1-1 3.68) gets the loss. Chicago catcher Tom Egan (.280) goes 4 for 5 with 3 doubles and knocks in the winning run in the 11th. --submitted by Jack Crownover--
